Music Ministry

We believe music to be a vital part of Christian worship. First Baptist offers a wide variety of musical styles from traditional to gospel, from classical to contemporary-a blending of old and new. Through the music ministry our purpose is to honor the Lord Jesus Christ and to communicate the Word of God.

MUSIC NOTES

We have had a great response to Music Camp registration. To date. we have only two
openings- one in second grade and one in fifth grade with waiting lists in most of the other
grades. We suggest interested parents put their children on the waiting list since we often
have cancellations.
If you are new to FBC, Music Camp is for children entering grades 2-7. The Camp runs
Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the church facility.
Music Camp objectives are: 1) To enrich the lives of children through exposure through a
variety of musical experiences in an environment where God's love in expressed, possibly
sparking a musical interest where there had not been one before,
and 2) To introduce Jesus Christ to the children so that they might begin to understand
who He is and their need for Him as their personal Savior.
Please pray that the children's hearts will be open to receive God's love expressed for them
through the music and activities. Pray, too, for the leaders- for energy, health, and patience,
and that we will be good ambassadors of Christ's love to these children.
Registration forms are available outside the church office and in the narthex. You may also
call the church office and have a form mailed to you.
The Children's Choirs are coming down the "home stretch" for this choir year. They will
sing on Sunday, May 4 and May 11 and will conclude with a short closing program on
Wednesday. May 21, 6:30 p.m. followed by an ice cream party...for the children. Sorry.
Sound Board Ministry Opportunity. We are very much in need of additional "sound
people" for the worship services. If you are interested in this important ministry and willing to
take some time to be trained, speak with Don Knapp or Tom Hollinger.

Blessings
TOM
