Summer is as good as gone. As we all think about getting back into the "groove," here are some possible music ministry opportunities for you and your family.
KIDS OF THE KINGDOM Children's Choir for ages 3 thru grade 5 begin Wednesday,
September 1. Registration begins in the Welcome Center at 6:30 p.m. followed
by a party and choirs divided into the respective groups as follows:
Cherub Choir - Ages 3 - 4, (age 3 prior to June 1) Preschool Area
Little Praisers - Kindergarten - Grade 1, Room 306
Hosanna Choir - Grades 2 - 5, Room 303
*Please come with your child's t-shirt size for NEW logo t-shirts.
*Parents should pick up children in the rooms listed above at 7:30 p.m.
So what do we do at choir?
1) Through music, to develop your child's awareness of God's love as shown in Jesus Christ so that, in God's perfect time, each child will accept Jesus Savior and Lord.
2) To increase your child's musical understanding and ability (singing, listening, performing rhythmic responses, following a conductor, playing instruments) so that music becomes an important part of his/her way of expressing love and praise to God.
Cherub Choir focuses on music fundamentals/development crucial at age 3 - 4 for further musical experiences while enjoying songs/activities about God's love/creation.
Little Praisers and Hosanna Choir continue to develop music fundamentals and will continue learning about "The Foundations of the Faith" thru activities, scripture memorization, games, and great songs'
The choirs will also be working on their part of the Christmas musical, "Journey of Faith," to be presented in December by the Sanctuary Choir.
EMMANUEL CHOIR/BAND, grades 6-12, resumes Sunday, September 12, 5:15 P.M.
LADIES' CHORUS sings ABW Sunday, September 19. For women not in choir who want to be part of the Ladies' Chorus, rehearsals will be Wednesdays, September 8 and 15, 7:40-8:00 p.m.
On "Back To Church Sunday," September 26, the Sanctuary Choir will sing the "Hallelujah Chorus." Anyone who knows the "HC" is welcome to join us if you can attend the rehearsal preceding that Sunday on Wednesday, September 22, 7:40-8:15 p.m.
THE SANCTUAY CHOIR is always open to those interested in using his/her musical abilities for the Lord. You are invited to the next Wednesday rehearsal, 7:40 p.m., Choir Room.
CHRISTMAS CANTATA. For those interested in singing in the Christmas musical "Journey of Faith," watch in the bulletin for details.
And there you have it. Your prayers are always needed not only for the "big" events, but as these groups (and their leaders) prepare to lead in our times of worship each week,
