2010 VBS Report

Kelly Hensley reports on another successful VBS adventure: An average of 7S children visited the SonQuest Rain-forest at FBC and they learned about 5 parables that Jesus taught. The total offering of $464.00 for the week went toward One Great Hour of Sharing. The hard-working VBS staff consisted of 2S FBC members who gave generously of their time and talents. Kelly also mentioned that it was an amazing week - "the children recited so many Bible verses it was unreal and the kids are even remembering those verses in Sunday School a month later!"

A big Thank You to all those who helped make this year a VBS a success

COLLEGE STUDENTS NEED LOVE TOO

What becomes of our young people after college? Many local church members throughout the country ask this question. In fact, what happens to them during their college years?
What is or will be their church affiliation, if any?
Too often than not, local church members forget about the young people after they leave for college, not realizing the traumatic experience the new student faces by breaking away from home and church ties. We need to do all possible to keep these ties by staying in touch with these students away from home and letting them know they are still a part of us. The competition for their attention out there is fierce and too often very attractive with peer pressure. The various cults on campuses, non-Christian "church" recruiters, and anti-religious groups are hard to avoid. Let's make it a priority to keep in touch with our young people who are away at college.
A card, a note of encouragement, a care package, perhaps even a little cash now and then...something to let them know that their church family back home is thinking of them and loves them dearly... all of these are great ways to keep in touch with our college students and remind them of their roots here at FBC.
The addresses of our FBC College Students who are away from home can be obtained from our church office.
Let's not forget them
