NEWSLETTER

Dear Church Family: The one thing that is constant is change!! Yet, when we walk by faith-and not by sight, we realize that God has everything under control. Our 5-day class has 10 students and our 3-day class has 17 students. Our 3-day staff is: Emily Shawver-Young (teacher), Patti Lamb (aide) and Pam Lipscomb (aide). Sadly we said good-by to Patty Moss in our 5-day class. (Note: Stop by the St. Albans Water Company and say hello to her!) Therefore I will be teaching the 5-day class and be ably assisted by Reba Denzie. Because of some family issues Sandy Conway, our 5-day aide from the past 2 years, could not return fuil time. However she and her husband Lyndon, will be helping throughout the year. Please continue to pray for our teaching staff and for the children and their families. We will continue to accept new 5-day students through the end of September.

SEPTEMBER UNIT THEMES AND EMPHASES:

GROW AND CHANGE - We will think about how we grow and change from being a baby to a toddler to a preschool.

FRIENDS AT SCHOOL - This month as children play in the gym or on the grassy area, or in the imagination station centers (building, home living, nature and books/puzzles) they will meet their school friends.

FARM LIFE - Together we will (earn what it is like to live on a farm.

ALL ABOUT ME - The 5-day students will make a booklet about themselves. APPLES (5-day only) - Look for apples around the 5-day room: apple bulletin boards, apples from the ceilings, apples on trees and apple garlands.

SUPER HERO OF THE MONTH -John Chapman (Johnny Appleseed) traveled west, with a walking stick in hand and a pot on his head, and planted apple trees everywhere he went.

THE BIBLE STORY OF THE WEEK coincides with the letter of the week. This month we will learn about angels, Barnabas, Coat of many colors and Daniel.

SPECIAL HAPPENINGS include school photos taken by Newbrough Photography on Sept. 15 and a trip to the St. Albans library on September 20.
